Here's the thing, you can be anything you want to be. Unless of course, it's Jumanji where not everything is as it seems. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a fun-packed, adventure-filled movie that follows four teenagers who are transported into a video game world. It stars likeable Hollywood duo Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Kevin Hart.
The movie opened in Kenya around Christmastime and doesn't have much longer until it goes out of the cinemas. Everyone in the world is loving Jumanji (it has made a whopping $700 million at the box office so far). Here are a few reasons why you should take a deep dive into the jungle too so you don't feel left off.
  1. It is super-funny
You can never go wrong with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. They reunite again here since their pair up in 2016 action-comedy Central Intelligence. Their onscreen chemistry is infectious. The humour will have you laughing your ass off. In one epic line in the trailer, one of the characters asks the other, "Are you going to help or are you too pretty?", to which she answers, "I'm too pretty." LMFAO! Slay queen moments are in plenty supply and you will find guaranteed satisfaction in the execution of the jokes.
  1. It is kid-friendly
Any kid who's 8 years old and above will definitely have a blast watching this movie on the big screen. This is mainly because of its thrilling adventures. The special effects bring out a very outdoorsy feel to the movie that will spark the little ones' sense of adventure.
  1. Brings out the concept of teamwork/unity
The four actors; Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillian and Jack Black do well to show all the virtues of working in a team to achieve a goal. If you're with someone at the cinema, you'll all feel like you're part of the action. It's very inclusive and engaging. It's the kind of movie you want to go watch with your squad or family.
  1. It is about a video game
Jumanji is different from any other video game concept movie because they're able to blur the line between real-life and the virtual life. It almost feels like you can't tell the real world and the gaming world.
  1. Kenyans loved it
We are generally difficult people to please but, when any movie beats out Star Wars in popularity like Jumanji has, then you know we really, really are impressed.
Be part of the fun and book your ticket now to watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in a cinema near you. You only have a week left!
