The moment I realized how serious the coronavirus pandemic was, I went ahead and searched "pandemic movies" and proceeded to watch almost all of them. Contagion, Bird Box, Cabin Fever. I couldn't stop, and I don't know why. Maybe these epidemic movies are making what's actually happening in real life seem less scary. Perhaps the coronavirus has just unleashed this obsession I have with the apocalypse. Either way, my queue is filled to the brim with pandemic movies. Here are 5 pandemic movies to watch that I think are deserving.
Quarantine
Angela, a reporter, and Scott, her cameraman, find themselves locked inside a building, which is quarantined by the CDC when humans in it turn into zombies after getting infected by a virus.
I Am Legend
Robert Neville, a scientist, is the last human survivor of a plague in the whole of New York. He attempts to find a way to reverse the effects of the man-made virus by using his own immune blood.
Cabin Fever
Five college graduates rent a cabin in the woods and begin to fall victim to a horrifying flesh-eating virus, which attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.
Bird Box
A mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they'll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them and complete the trip blindfolded.
Contagion
The death of Beth Emhoff and her son leads to the discovery of a deadly virus. While the US Centers for Disease Control struggles to curb its spread, a worldwide panic ensues.
