5-1 Victory: Ghana’s Black Stars Smash Congo

Ghana national football team, the Black Stars, celebrated a historical victory against Congo-Brazaville in their qualifying match for Russia 2018 World Cup. Ghana hammered the Congolese footballers in a 5-1 triumph. Thomas Partey scored a hat-trick.

As YEN News informs, in the 23rd minute Richmond Boakye scored the first goal for Ghana. Moreover, in the 85th minute of the game, the footballer scored the last goal in this match. In between, defensive midfielder of Atletico Madrid, 24-years old Thomas Partey, scored his three goals. Congo scored their one goal in the 43rd minute to make the game 2-1 at the time.

Notwithstanding the fact that Ghana’s Black Stars won that game, experts say that it is nearly impossible for the Ghanaian team to receive a ticket to Russia 2018. Presently, Ghana is in third place in its Group E standings. This is how the table looks like:

Egypt—9 points;
 Uganda—7 points;
 Ghana—5 points;
 Congo—1 point.

In their next game, Ghana will play in Uganda on October 7, 2017.
