Kip McGrath has an international reputation as a trusted and innovative provider of quality supplementary English, Math, Sciences & Humanities.

At Kip McGrath we steadfastly believe that every child deserves the right to read, write and calculate well enough to choose their future. Through the use of great programmes, individually customised learning programmes, motivated and skilled teachers; we are making a tremendous difference in the world today.

Kip McGrath was founded in Maitland, NSW Australia in 1976 by Kip and Dugnea McGrath with the sole purpose of building a brighter future for children who were struggling with their education.

Their ideology was simply that, “every child can learn, they just need to be taught properly.”

The first tuition centre was in the family garage, where Kip and Dugnea would tutor local children who needed help with their literacy and numeracy. Kip developed a remediation learning system, based on assessing the child to identify the gaps in their learning. From this assessment, a personalised programme is devised to meet the child’s learning needs. With a combination of computer and written tasks Kip’s methodology can bring a non-reader to functional literacy within 100 lessons.

From humble beginnings, Kip McGrath has grown into a global family of passionate, qualified teachers in over 800 tutoring centres across the world. All driven by Kip’s guiding value - a child who needs help, needs a teacher to motivate and guide them.

Decades on, Kip McGrath continues to develop in established countries and branch into new areas as the demand to improve English and maths skills grows and children become more empowered to change their life story through education.

WHAT WE DO

Developed for Primary and Secondary Students

Kip McGrath provides tutorial assistance in English, maths, Sciences and Humanities to primary and secondary students. The system is based on how children perform in the free assessment tasks, which means they get placed at the correct level on our programme to learn all the necessary skills.  Every concept is taught systematically, and the student works through each topic area until they have caught up to their year level. This approach is thorough, structured and successful.

1. All children are given an initial assessment to determine what year level they’re currently working at and to identify any learning gaps.
2. An individual learning programme is then created to target exactly what your child needs help with. The programme is carefully designed so that your child progresses at their own pace. Your child starts on the Kip McGrath programme at the level suited to their current ability and knowledge.

Why do our methods work? This question is best expressed as “Why does Kip McGrath succeed where others have failed?” We don’t take a one size fits all approach to our teaching programmes. Every programme is customised for the child and everything we do can be measured.
