The ongoing flooding crisis in Nairobi, particularly impacting low-income areas like Mathare, has left communities devastated. Among the most affected, hundreds of Mathare residents find themselves homeless, with children, and lacking basic necessities.
In response, the Mathare Social Justice Center (MSJC) has taken proactive steps to support those in need. Spearheading community-based efforts, the MSJC Ecological Justice Network has set up a tent in Mathare, offering hot meals and collecting essential donations.
The support required is varied and extensive. Donations of mattresses, blankets, food, clothing (for adults and children), books, toys, sanitary towels, and diapers for babies are all urgently needed.
For those willing to contribute, financial donations can be made by contacting Wanjira at 0791334684 or by sending funds to the MSJC Paybill number: Account 4060187, Account Name: THE MATHARE SOCIAL JUSTICE CENTRE.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in helping the affected communities rebuild and recover from the devastating floods. Let's come together to support our neighbors in their time of need.
