A film shot in late 2009 on location in Kenya has during the Golden Globe Award Ceremony been given the highest accolade as ‘best foreign film’, an unexpected honour and boost to Kenya as a tourism destination. The film, portraying the lives of two Danish families, is about the work of one of them in a refugee camp health centre and clinic and will show the back drop of the breathtaking landscapes of the Great Rift Valley which spreads through the entire country but is most spectacular near the chosen location at Elementaita. While time was too short since getting the news to obtain a ‘read’ from the Kenya Tourist Board it is known that the country is trying hard to attract film makers with incentives and special concessions to the country so that ‘Destination Kenya’ can make an impact around the world when such films are shown. Well done!Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Thome
