The Lamu Cultural Festival will be officially launched on Tuesday 30th October 2012 at the Hotel InterContinental.

The Lamu Cultural Festival marks a milestone in its 10th year history celebrating and promoting the Swahili culture and traditions.

The annual Lamu Cultural Festival came to a close yesterday with every available bed booked up by locals, said to comprise over 75 percent of the hotel bookings but also by overseas tourists, who had defied the blanket anti travel advisories and flown, boated and drove to this ancient Swahili township.

This weekend is the 10th Annual Lamu Cultural Festival, where else, but Lamu.  Organised by the Lamu Cultural promotion group, this three-day festival covers a multitude of riches offered up by this tiny island on Kenyan Coast that has become a UNESCO World Heritage site.
