Pakruok is a literary genre in Dholuo oral literature. It is considered a complex genre of speech. It is performed within another genre such as song where the performer narrates jokes and uses praise of oneself or of others through speech for entertainment as well as to ridicule unbecoming behaviour. 
Performing arts educator, filmmaker and thespian Dr Zippy Okoth is one of the few contemporary creatives using Pakrouk and you can watch this come alive in "Otis Janam '' On Wednesday, 27th March 2024 at KICC.
Otis Janam, a lazy fisherman, becomes champion in a boat racing competition and marries the daughter of the wealthiest man. Can the right woman change a man's fate? Featuring Nick Kwach and Masese Sarah, this film with subtitles promises to be dholuo cinema excellence.
