How smart are you? Are you smart enough to take the American Bar Association test? What about an advanced calculus class test at Massachusetts Institute of Technology? Better yet, can you take them BOTH and score above 90% by choice? Well I know someone who can.

Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is the title character on USA network's Suits. He has been blessed with a brain capable of consuming and retaining massive volumes of knowledge. A gift he has been squandering on helping people cheat their way to success as lawyers and technology moguls while remaining in the same dead end position himself. But while dodging the police after a botched drug run he finds himself in a job interview with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), the city's most ruthless and successful lawyer. Specter is intrigued by Ross's story and gives him a job at his firm despite the fact that Ross is not an actual lawyer. Now, the two must work hand in hand to actually practice law while avoiding getting caught in their deception.

After watching the movie Limitless, I was wondering if there would ever be another thought-provoking production about the capabilities of the human mind and I am pleased to say that THIS is it. Suits combines a comedic feel with suspense and surprisingly likable characters. Even the more irritating characters like Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) come off as a perfect fit within the storyline. Litt is the major threat to Mike and Harvey’s game. If he busts them and takes the information to Jessica Pearson then the gig is up, or is it? Besides oozing massive amounts of sex appeal in her scenes, Jessica also shows an intense amount of loyalty to Harvey for reasons which I believe are still to be revealed as the season progresses.
Speaking of sex appeal, Meghan Markle makes her series starring role debut as Rachel Zane. She had a brief episode appearance on Fringe but was not there long enough to matter to the overall story line. In Suits, she plays a paralegal who, despite being more than capable of being a lawyer, fails to rise up to the challenge.
If you are looking for a show which combines intelligence with humor without a lot of unnecessary drama then suits is it. One of the most interesting things about the show is its ability to rope the audience into identifying with Mike who, although being a genius, faces the common social anxieties we all face and has to be guided out of them by Harvey. A major positive part of the story is the constant witty banter between the two who despite Harvey’s attempts to stop it, end up forming quite a brotherly bond.
