Imagine cruising the crystal waters of Malindi, Watamu or Che Shale just you and your board, the wind in your hair and clinging on for dear life to an enormous kite.

Well, there are people who can make it much less life-threatening than it looks.  www.malindikite.com  are now offering courses in how to harness the wind properly starting you off on an obsession that could last a lifetime.  Kite courses are held in Italian, English, Spanish as well as Kiswahili, with no age limit.  The training is safe and includes safety procedures.  A beginner’s course, for 300 Euros per person, consists of 4 lessons, each of two hours, complete with a kite workbook to help you follow the lesson stage by stage.  At the end of the course, an IKO kite card will attest your skill level.  Equipment rental, training book, IKO card and insurance are all included in the course price.  Once you are hooked, there are more courses available including an advanced course for kiters who want to add more skills to their repertoire such as jumps, rotations and wave-riding.  For more information on what is available

call Carlo Chigi 0721 322341.
