150g ground almonds
75g icing sugar
1packet vanilla sugar (or vanilla essence in about 20g of sugar)
200g flour
200g butter, room temperature
Mix all ingredients together, then leave the dough in the fridge for 2 hours. Roll into tiny crescent shapes (as on the picture), about 5cm long and 2cm thick and place on a baking sheet (not too close together as they will expand slightly when they cook). Bake in oven at 175C. They will be done when just turning golden; don’t over-cook them. When cool, roll in icing sugar.
No Czech (or German) Christmas table can be without these delicious tiny biscuits.
