Avoid the bypass road that crosses between Lang'ata road near Wilson Airport and Lenana Road.
This road has always been renowned for carjackings but some people are tempted during heavy traffic jams. See below personal story of someone who had a bad experience on this road:

I just want to bring to your attention that I was violently robbed along the Langata rd, Ngong rd bypass last week on the 3rd May around 16.30 hrs . I
was stopped at gunpoint by 7 criminals, all very young aged, and extremely drunk! This happened as you climb the hill through the Kibera slum and about
500metres thereafter. They were lying in the bush and just pounced and stood on the road, and pointed a pistol straight at my windscreen. I was robbed of
a lot of cash (salary money for workers at home, and all my valuables including passports of my family).
