The couple were robbed of jewellery, money and mobile phones before the thugs escaped with the couple’s vehicle, a Toyota Station Wagon. The thugs went onto carjack two other vehicles, one on Jalaram road and another on Mwambao road near the City Park.
The majority of attacks happen at the gate of your home. A popular technique at the moment is for thugs to come up fast behind you as the askari opens the gate so they can get in behind you before the gate closes. Is your askari aware of these types of scenarios? Does he know what to do?
You must be extra vigilant when exiting or entering your compound. Pay attention to what cars are behind you as you get closer to home. Are you being followed? Make some unusual turns and see if they follow you. Go around a roundabout twice. If you think you are being followed, don’t go home! Go to the nearest police station or other nearby safe haven. You should also call your local security provider and tell them what is happening and give them your location. Make sure you have emergency numbers on speed dial.
Thanks,
Kim
