Carjackings on the increase

KK Security reports that carjackings are picking up again after a three-week lull.
Most recent car-jackings are happening at the gates of apartment compounds and private residences. This is a common tactic.

Carjackers are entering the compound by closely following a victim into their gate when returning home. This happens very quickly and the security
person at the gate is often caught unaware.

It is advisable to train your security guard to open and close the gate very quickly and allow one vehicle in the gate at a time. You should also call
the guard ahead of time so that he is aware that you are nearby. Establish a secret code with him so that you know for sure that it is your guard at the
gate.

Be extra vigilant when exiting or returning from your compound. Make sure that you aren't being followed and if you suspect anything unusual, don't go
home. Call your security provider or the police and go to a safe haven.
