Poetry in Kenya has undergone something of a revolution over the past few years. Once a secret activity for the young and old, it has almost become mainstream with a slew of readings and lyrical slams aimed at bringing the community together to share and compare work.

The 2nd Edition of the Nairobi Fashion Market came around this past weekend at the Impala Grounds. It was a sweltering Saturday, and although last year I took a peep through the doors and got back into my car, this year I came loaded with camera, cash, blogging pad, and lot of expectation.
